Your first grow, in a small tent.
Your first grow, in a small tent. We chose four filters for you: feminized, so every plant flowers; autoflower, so you don't change the light schedule; easy, so the plant forgives a mistake; and small, so it stays under 90 cm. Take any filter off to see more seeds.

Filters we used, and why
- Feminized: every seed grows into a female plant, the one that flowers, so you don't need to spot and remove males. Feminized or regular.
- Autoflower: it flowers by age, not by daylight, so you never change the light schedule. Most stay compact. Autoflower or photoperiod.
- Easy: the breeder or a shop calls it easy to grow. It forgives a missed watering or a feeding mistake. Grow specs.
- Height small: under 90 cm as stated, so it fits the headroom of a small tent with the lamp above it. Height brackets.
Why these four filters suit a first grow in a tent
A small grow tent puts limits on the plant: height, light, airflow and room for mistakes. Each filter on this page takes one of those worries away.
| Filter | What it saves you | Why it matters in a tent |
|---|---|---|
| Feminized | Spotting and removing males | Every plant in your limited space flowers |
| Autoflower | Switching the light schedule | One light setting from seed to harvest |
| Easy | Recovering from mistakes | A first grow always has a few |
| Small | Running out of headroom | The plant stays clear of the lamp |
How much room does a plant need?
Height
A tent of 160 to 180 cm tall loses room to the lamp, its hanging gear and the pot. What's left for the plant is often 90 to 110 cm. A small plant on buxbeans stays under 90 cm as stated, which leaves space between the buds and the light. Height brackets.
Floor space
| Tent size | Typical number of autoflowers |
|---|---|
| 60 × 60 cm | 1 to 2 |
| 80 × 80 cm | 2 to 4 |
| 100 × 100 cm | 4 to 6 |
Fewer, healthier plants usually give more than a crowded tent. Good airflow between plants also keeps mould away.
What to check before you buy
- The light you have. A small tent with a modest LED is enough for compact autoflowers. Yield figures assume strong light, so expect less with a smaller lamp.
- Smell. Flowering cannabis smells. A carbon filter on the exhaust fan is the usual answer in a tent.
- Pack size. For a first grow, a small pack is enough. Small packs (under 10 seeds) and large packs (10 to 25) show by default. Choosing a pack size.
- Price per seed. The same seeds cost different amounts at different shops. Compare before you choose.
Common first-grow questions
Why not a photoperiod?
A photoperiod gives you more control and a bigger harvest, but you have to switch the light to 12 hours to start flowering and keep the dark period completely dark. An autoflower skips that step. If you'd like the control, keep photoperiods in.
Why so few seeds on this list?
Because "small" and "easy" only count when a breeder or shop says so. Many compact autoflowers don't state a height. Drop the height filter and you see far more; then check each seed's height yourself on its page. No figure? The middle bracket.
What does "easy" mean?
It means the breeder or a shop calls the plant easy to grow: forgiving with water, feeding and temperature. It doesn't mean it grows itself. Everything else you need to know to choose is in the guide.
Make it yours
- Drop small: about three times as many seeds. Check each height on the seed's page.
- Keep photoperiods in: you switch the light to 12 hours to start flowering.
- Start here: matching the data to your grow.
Good to know
Only a small share of seeds state a height at all; many compact autoflowers simply don't say. Filters like high, short, small and easy only show seeds where a breeder or shop states that figure. A seed with no figure sits in the middle bracket, so it isn't shown here even if it would fit. No figure? The middle bracket.
